Richard A. Schaefer concentrates his practice on a wide range of business and commercial matters, including disputes involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, copyright, trademark, trade secrets, and real estate transactions. He has notable experience assisting clients in the all phases of litigation covering the development of litigation and settlement strategies, discovery, dispositive motions, and trial in state and federal courts.

Richard earned his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law with a concentration in intellectual property. While in law school, he served as the Executive Managing Editor of the Hastings Business Law Journal. Richard was also a member of the top-ranked Hastings Negotiation and Mediation Team, where he won first place in Negotiation at the 2019 INADR Intercollegiate Mediation Tournament. Prior to law school, Richard graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a B.A. in Economics, cum laude.
